# Save a generated document to Pylon

> Connect Pylon with an API token in Settings → Connections to save a video's AI-generated document as a draft Pylon knowledge base article.

Connect Pylon with an API token in **Settings** → **Connections** to save a video's AI-generated document as a draft article in your Pylon knowledge base.

## Create a Pylon API token

A Pylon admin opens **Settings** → **Integrations & dev** → **API tokens** and creates a token whose role can edit the knowledge base. Tella works with tokens from both Pylon's US and EU regions.

## Connect Pylon

1. Open **Settings** → **Connections** and find **Pylon** under **Documents**.
2. Click **Connect**, paste your API token, and click **Connect** again.
3. The Pylon card shows **Connected** when Tella has checked the token.

If you see **Pylon didn't accept this key**, check that you copied the whole token and that its role can edit the knowledge base. To remove access, click **Disconnect** on the Pylon card.

You can also connect from the **Generated document** window: choose **Save to Pylon** while disconnected and paste your token in the field that appears.

## Save a document as a draft Pylon article

1. Open a video with a transcript and go to its **Ask** tab.
2. Generate a document using a suggested prompt or your own prompt.
3. In the **Generated document** window, click **Create…** and select **Save to Pylon**.
4. If your token can reach more than one knowledge base and you haven't set a default, pick one under **Choose a knowledge base**. Tella saves your pick as your default knowledge base.
5. Open the draft from the new tab or the **Saved to Pylon** notification.

Tella creates a **draft**, not a published article, with the token's user as author. The video embed goes at the top, followed by a **Watch the video** link (in case Pylon hides the embed) and the generated text. The first `#` or `##` heading in the document becomes the article title; if there is no such heading, the title is **Untitled**. Review and publish the draft in Pylon when it is ready.

## Choose your default knowledge base

The first knowledge base you pick when saving becomes your default, and later saves go straight there without asking. Your default is personal to you.

To change it, open **Settings** → **Connections** and choose another knowledge base under **Default knowledge base** on the Pylon card. If no default is set, the picker shows **Ask each time**. If your default knowledge base is deleted or your token can no longer reach it, Tella treats it as unset and asks again the next time you save.

## What if my Pylon token stops working?

If the token is revoked or loses its permissions, Tella asks for a new one the next time you save. Paste a new token in the field that appears, or reconnect the Pylon card in **Settings** → **Connections**.
