# Mac app system requirements

> Minimum requirements to install and run the Tella Mac app.

Here's what your Mac needs to run [Tella for Mac](https://tella.com/mac).

## Minimum requirements

* **macOS 13.0 (Ventura)** or later. Older versions of macOS are not supported — upgrade to at least Ventura to use the app.

* **Apple Silicon or Intel.** The app runs natively on both, so no Rosetta is needed.

* **Internet connection** with an upload speed of at least **2.5–5 Mbps** for reliable uploads. Test your speed [here](https://www.speedtest.net/).

* **Free disk space** of at least **5–10 GB** before recording. Tella temporarily saves recordings to local storage before uploading them, so longer or higher-quality recordings need more space. See [why you might see the low disk space warning](/docs/help/mac-app/mac-app-low-disk-space-warning).

<Note>
  If your Mac can't run Ventura, you can still record with the [web app](/docs/help/recording/record-a-video-using-the-web-app) in a supported browser — see the [minimum usage requirements](/docs/help/faq/usage-requirements).
</Note>

## Download

Get the app from the [direct download link](https://mac.tella.tv/Tella.dmg) or by clicking **Record** in the web app and choosing **Tella for Mac**. For installation steps, see [record a video using the Mac app](/docs/help/recording/record-a-video-using-the-mac-app).
