Workspace owners can move videos to another workspace they belong to: select videos in the library and click Move to workspace, or move every video they own with Settings → General → Videos → Transfer videos. The source workspace, its playlists, and its settings stay in place, so you don’t need to delete anything.
Who can transfer videos?
- You must be an Owner of the workspace the videos are in.
- You must already be a member of the destination workspace. If it’s a new workspace, create it or accept an invite first.
- Only videos you own (you recorded or uploaded them, or they were transferred to you) can move. Being an editor on a video isn’t enough.
Move individual videos to another workspace
- Switch to the workspace containing the videos using your workspace name in the top left.
- Select the videos you want to move in your library.
- Click Move to workspace.
- Choose the destination under Transfer videos to, then click Transfer.
- Review how many videos moved and how many couldn’t be moved, then click Done.
Move to workspace appears only when you’re a workspace owner, every selected video is yours, and you belong to another workspace.
Move all videos in a workspace to another workspace
- Switch to the source workspace and open Settings → General.
- Under Videos, click Transfer videos.
- Choose the destination under Transfer videos to, then click Transfer.
- Review the result and click Done.
This moves every video you own in the workspace. Videos owned by other members stay put. If Transfer videos is disabled, join another workspace first.
Move a whole workspace into another one
To consolidate one workspace into another (for example, a personal workspace into your team’s):
- If other members own videos in the source workspace, remove those members and transfer their videos to yourself when prompted. Their videos become yours.
- Transfer all your videos to the destination workspace.
- Optionally, delete the source workspace. Its playlists, settings, custom domain, and integrations don’t move, so recreate any you need in the destination first.
What stays in the source workspace?
The source workspace, its playlists, and its settings stay in place. Playlists don’t move: transferred videos are removed from the source workspace’s playlists and its library, so they appear only in the destination workspace. Add them to playlists there if you need to.
People you shared a video with as an editor or viewer keep that access only if they’re members of the destination workspace. Everyone else loses the access you shared with them, so share the video again if they still need it.
You remain the owner of the transferred videos in the destination workspace. If a video stops being yours before the transfer reaches it, it won’t move; the result shows how many videos couldn’t be moved.
I recorded in the wrong workspace
Check the workspace switcher (your workspace name, top left). The video is in whichever workspace was active when you recorded. If you’re an owner there, select it and click Move to workspace.
If you can’t use the transfer action because you aren’t an owner of that workspace, ask an owner to make you an owner, or download the video and upload it to the right workspace. An upload is a fresh video: edits, layouts, and analytics don’t carry over.
Transfer videos when deleting a workspace
Deleting a workspace also offers a Transfer videos to choice that moves your videos before the workspace is removed. See Delete a workspace. Transferring first with Transfer videos lets you check the result before you delete anything.
Can I move videos between two Tella accounts?
Not directly. Videos move between workspaces, not accounts, and two Tella logins (e.g. a Google login and an email login for the same person) can’t be merged. Invite the account that owns the videos to the destination workspace, accept the invite, then transfer from that account. If you’re being charged on both accounts, contact support via the in-app chat and we’ll sort out the billing side. Last modified on October 8, 2026
