Embed Tella videos in Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides

You can embed Tella videos directly in Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Google Slides using the Tella add-on from the Google Workspace Marketplace. This is useful when you want to add extra context to a document you are sharing, or keep video updates and explanations inline with your work.

Install the Tella add-on

You can install the add-on from the Google Workspace Marketplace here, or from inside Google Docs.

  1. Open Google docs.

  2. Go to ExtensionsAdd-onsGet add-ons.

  3. Search for Tella.

  4. Click to install the add-on.

  5. Grant access so Tella can embed videos in your Docs, Sheets, and Slides.

Embed a Tella video as a smart chip

  1. Copy the link to the tella video you want to embed.

  2. Paste the link into your google doc, sheet, or slide.

  3. Press tab to convert the pasted link into an embedded smart chip.

Once embedded, you can hover over the smart chip to see more context, like the video thumbnail, author, and duration. You can also select the option to watch the full video on Tella.
