How to adjust viewer playback speed
When you share a Tella video, viewers can control how fast or slow they want to watch it. This is great for people who want to quickly skim through content.
Setting the default playback speed
As the video creator, you can set the default playback speed that viewers will see when they first open your video.
From the Share menu
Open your video in the Tella editor.
Click on the Share button.
Select Viewer Settings.
Find the Default Playback Speed option. You can choose between 1.0x, 1.2x, 1.5x, 1.7x, and 2.0x.
Choose your preferred default speed from the dropdown menu.
From the view page
Navigate to your video's view page.
Click on the Settings button.
Look for the Default Playback Speed option. You can choose between 1.0x, 1.2x, 1.5x, 1.7x, and 2.0x.
Select the speed you want viewers to start with.
This default speed will apply to all viewers when they first open your video, but they can still adjust it to their preference.
How viewers adjust playback speed
When someone watches your video, they'll see a playback speed control in the video player.
Click on the speed button (it shows your default speed, like "1x").
A menu will appear with different speed options.
Choose from speeds like 1.0x, 1.2x, 1.5x, 1.7x, and 2.0x.
The video will immediately play at the selected speed.
What you need to know
Audio Quality: When viewers adjust the playback speed, Tella automatically adjusts the audio pitch so voices still sound natural, even at faster speeds.
Speed Preferences: Viewers will see your chosen default speed when they first open the video, but any speed adjustments they make will reset when they open a new video.
All Viewers Have Access: This feature is available to anyone watching your Tella video, whether they're on desktop or mobile.
