Minimum usage requirements

Internet connection

The minimum upload speed for reliable use of Tella is between 2.5 and 5 Mbps. If you don’t know what your internet connection’s upload speed, test it here.

Web browsers

Tella works across all web browsers, including:

  • Chrome 111 (released March 2023) or later

  • Safari 16.4 (released March 2023) or later

  • Firefox 128 (released July 2024) or later

  • Brave (Chromium 111 - released March 2023) or later

  • Arc (Chromium 111 - released March 2023) or later

  • Edge

Note: the list of supported browsers may change as we improve Tella and upgrade to the latest libraries. When browsers no longer support these newer versions, Tella unfortunately cannot either.

Computers

You can use on Mac or Windows (with the web browsers mentioned above). People have used Tella on Linux and Ubuntu in the past, but there were issues with accessing the screen, camera, and mic.

  • For windows computers, we only support Windows 10 or higher. Windows 7 or below is not supported.

  • For Mac computers, our mac app is only available for macOS Ventura — version 13.0 or later. You must upgrade your macOS version to at least Ventura to use it.

Mobile and tablets

You cannot record or edit Tella videos on mobile. However, you can access your videos, playlists, and view videos on mobile.
